Must ensure availability of food in every part of the country throughout the year, there is a need to plan; prepare a strong backup data and rigorous ground work.

Most of the farms, farming activity are carried out in the remote areas, farmers hold small land holdings hence the production is not too huge, market place is too far and the facilities to transport the produce by private or commercial transport is not available on regular basis and is costly, the best solution will be process the produce for value addition and income generation.

After completing higher education, Dr Bhore worked in food processing unit, the work was to cultivate and procure the raw material from different markets and from the pockets of cultivation, to ensure regular supply with sufficient quantity and quality Dr Bhore went in for Contract farming with the farmers and farmers group. Several meetings, seminars, workshops and training programs are organized at the villages, taluka, and district places as well as at the farmer’s farms.
The food processing unit program is chalked out for the year to process different fruits, vegetables and spices, the quantities, qualities, varieties are fixed to ensure a quality product with shelf life, flavor, color and taste.
Dr Bhore has taken initiatives at an individual basis and travels in the remote areas of rural India to promote agriculture business for the development of the farmer’s community by improving their living standards and economical values.
Looking at the farmers problems, their interest in the participation, problems on availability of inputs and the cost, initiatives were taken to assist the farmers on a collective basis.

Technical and proven technological inputs were discussed on advance cultivation practices, varieties preferred for food processing and season of cultivations with the dates of plantation and harvest. To ensure production and marketing of the produce a tie up was the way with the farmers and food processing units the efforts of Dr Bhore helped both the processing unit and the farmers and the gap was bridged out.

Dr Bhore looked into the quality controls of the food processed in the units under the guidance of the food technologist and factory managers.

Food processing activity creates the best opportunity for employment generation and entrepreneurship.

The industry demands smooth effects on post harvest management, cold chain, logistics and distribution; skilled labor, staff and technically sound personals are the requirements of the industry. There is a need to chalk out the prominent foods that can be a part of daily consumption.

Dr Bhore organizes training and awareness program to educate the farmers on issues like
1. Proper variety for table purpose and for food processing
2. The right variety and the right seed company for its cultivation in the respected area as per the season
3. Crop management practices through promoting organic farming techniques to improve nutrient values, productivity, profitability, quality etc.
4.He emphasis on maintaining schedules of plantations and on the harvest of the mature produce, post harvest management to avoid microbial contaminations, proper grading, storage, packing and dispatch
5. Recommendations are to carry cultivations in protected conditions under shade net and poly houses to minimizes the losses through the climatic factors
6. Water and land is a limited resource, hence Dr Bhore suggest the farmers to go in for micro irrigation system, cultivations on raise bed systems, under a mulch and must adopt multiple cropping system
7. Finally, there must be a common collection center [pack house] well equipped with solar fittings for electricity, good water source at the village level, All the possible activities of collection of produce, cleaning, grading and packing needs to be performed and the product can be dispatched to the concern with proper documents and as per the contract Hygiene and sanitation must be maintained.
